Hello Paul
I'm sorry to hear that you are having such a rough time at the moment.
I don't know what, or how you can persuade your GP to furnish you with a letter, but was wondering if accessing your 'Patient Record' held at your surgery would prove helpful? I was thinking that if you've had a letter from your GP previously, it may well have been noted in your records.
I recently made an access to records request at my medical centre, while waiting for my request to be authorised, one of the staff members printed off a summary for me. It may be worth a try!

Thank you for the replies.
They have previously given me such letter which makes their current stance baffling is as if my own doctor doesn't read my medical file but I'm not sure as it was years ago when I was on DLA if they would take it into account.
I have contacted my local MP no idea how that's going to go but probably not going to go in time.
I know the answer is probably no to making either DWP or doctors do anything but here was the response from my journal after asking for DWP get in contact.
Honestly, my heart goes out to all claimants who are in a similar situation with unstable mental health conditions as it's just terrible treatment of people with disabilities and seems like it should be criminal.
My Wife thinks i should move on and pay £30 use whatever the GP gives and pick another battle to fight.
I think from now on I'm going to request my medical file and mail it with my application as clearly the in-depth response is not enough.

Hi again Paul,
I did ask this for you as it was something I was not aware of. We don't have any input once the medical referral process has been started, until the report comes back; so would not have known. They advised they do not contact GPs or health professionals, and all evidence must be provided by yourself, including the letter in support of your request for a home visit.
I am sorry about that, It was news for me too.
Apologies
