Claiming UC and have a fit note. was created by Emma Holland
Hi, I was awarded LCWRA back in 2011/12 by tribunal on appeal for ESA. I then went back to work 8 months later and claimed Disability elemental of WTC for next 8 years working min 16 hrs per week.
Now moved and have to claim UC. I still have the same psychiatric health condition. My doctor has issued me with a fit note as I’m struggling with a painful hip ( childhood hip disease becoming worse and torn meniscus in both knees ) . Will I still have LCWRA as it was a decision made by the court tribunal ? And secondly, why do I have to make a claimant comintment next week if I’m not fit to work ?
Thanks for any help, experience or advice in advance.

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
My full name is showing, how can I stop it?
I'm afraid you lost your LCWRA status as soon as you started working 16 hours of more a week.
All Universal Credit claimants are required to sign a Claimant commitment even if they are hoping to be declared Unfit for Work.
Have you submitted your Fit Notes? Your Assessment Period does not start until you do?

Thanks, yes I have. I can’t find my profile to change my name. I’m finding it difficult to navigate this site. I’m exhausted, which doesn’t help.
