ATOS Home Visit was created by Tuliptrees
Hi, I have been told today ATOS intends to do a home visit. I never asked for one and only receive standard care. I do have mobility issues but get nothing for that. I also had a cancer diagnosis last September and subsequent surgery and radiotherapy, but have been told that will make no difference even though I am suffering with bowel issues as a result of radiotherapy. I'm just wondering what makes ATOS decide to do a home visit when a centre visit by me would surely be more viable.

It could be because they agree that you have mobility problems and would have difficulty attending at their offices, if you live in a remote area it could be that the time it would take you to travel exceeds the maximum time allowed..

That's what confuses me even more Gordon. If you check the ATOS website it says they have an assessment room at my local GP practice in Holsworthy, which is a ten minute car ride away and a place I frequent regularly...

Hi Margo

You shouldn't necessarily expect the person who has decided to offer you a home visit to have compared your address to their site!

Hi Margo
Hope this helps a little back in December I had a home assessment not expected, I’m not far from Holsworthy either..! I was a little more comfortable at home and luckily the HP was really empathetic & really took her time to understand how my condition effects me. I’m certain the home assessment helped me a lot & I really appreciated the offer.
Hopefully you will have the same positive experience too. I went from DLA middle care high mobility to PIP enhanced for both.
Lots of luck
