I applied for PIP in October 2019 and I know from a recorded phone call that my papers went over to ATOS in November 2019. I have still not received a date for assessment interview nearly 5 months later. I have phoned ATOS twice, DWP twice and I have written two letters to DWP. All logged. Phone calls recorded. A friend told me not to stress because an award of benefit will be backdated. However I am annoyed at their treatment of my case and would like to complain. Is this a good idea and if so is there a formal procedure ? Thanks for any ideas. Ivor

There are delays in the PIP assessment process but you have waited far longer than we would expect. You can make a complaint but only you can decide whether to do this.
