I suffer from a lot of mental issues mainly depression, anxiety and agoraphobia. I was sent a home visit the last time I had an assessment some 2 years ago. Now I have been sent a second assessment appointment for this month after I did not attend the last one sent 5 weeks ago. The DWP sent me a form to fill in asking me why I did not attend. I explained in full detail about my condition along with a Doctors letter explaining in full that I have home visits from the surgery and have not been outside for a very long time. Now they have written to me ignoring all that I sent them and have sent me a second appointment at a center 5 miles away. Have you any advice on what I should do. Can I claim discrimination in anyway as I clearly cannot attend?
My guess is that the information that you sent to the DWP was not passed on to the Assessment Provider and the DWP have simply asked the AP to arrange another appointment.
So I would contact the AP and send them the letter that your GP wrote for the DWP but make sure that it is unambiguous, that there are no comments such as "might suffer" or "could lead to a deteriorated condition".
