I have been on ESA CB and my partner is on ESAIR we both did joint claim since 2018. My partner now also gets PIP. As from that date and cos we living together his ESAIR is reduced to £65 a week. As my esa CB is paid in full to me.
Query is after going on line benefits calculators
I want to come of esa cb and go back to work only 21 hours a week @ 8.21 an hour won’t pay tax either as not over tax threshold for year.
The calculations show that he wouldn’t get any esa as with my monthly salary it wiped out his money.
Q. Does he still get his NHS prescriptions paid for and eye tests etc free
Q also he doesn’t paid any councul tax either would he still get that too
It’s causing a lot of anxiety and upset Re money etc and want to make sure I’m going right thing.
The calculations show should claim for universal credit but then he would have to go through assessment process again too. ?? Altho shows would be better off on universal credit.
Q would be still get nhs free and councul tax discount too on UC or us that something I need to look at paying from my wages.
Any help thanks

To receive free prescriptions under UC patients must be included in a UC award and their earnings during their most recent assessment period must be:
£435 or less
£935 or less if their UC includes an element for either a child or limited capability for work
Council Tax deductions should remain unchanged as it is based on their entitlement.
A claim for UC should not result in a reassessment unless they are already due for one, their ESA award should be transferred to UC but be aware that this is a manual process and you will need to chase the DWP to make sure it happens.
