DWP not responding to pip appeal was created by stacey0208
Hi all the DWP have not responded to my pip appeal so the tribunal service has given them a reminder does anyone know how long they again have to respond. I think it’s ridiculous that we have 30 days to appeal and they can take all the time they like and just get gentle reminders. Or if we don’t send our forms back by the specified date our claim gets cancelled. How long am I likely to wait for a hearing. Can I get the DWP to change my award by submitting more evidence

Hi stacey0208
HMCTS will send out a Direction Notice to the DWP and will also send you a copy, if they have insufficient papers they will ask you to send copies of your appeal papers direct to them.
If you have additional supporting documents then send it in, remember to send it to HMCTS and not DWP, HMCTS will forward any additional supporting documents to DWP and yourself.
DWP can at anytime contact you with an offer of an award, you do not have to accept it, you could argue over the phone for a higher award if you believe your supporting documents shows that you would be entitled to the enhanced rate.

Just to add.
If you do accept an offer from the DWP then you can still request a new appeal for a higher rate, just don't tell the DWP that you will be doing this or they will withdraw their offer.

Hi Stacey and Gordon
I think we really should start informing our MP's of what is going on. They will not know unless we tell them and maybe just maybe help put things right.
Also, I think let the media know, you don't have to give your name and details but the more they know of the dire situation that is going on the better.
