Are the DWP considering suspending the transfer of people on dla indefinite awards to pip due to the backlog and chaos of Coronavirus?

Hi Malka

The DWP hasn't announced anything to that effect yet.

Hi There

I am going through the process of reassessment from DLA to PIP at the moment myself. I had an appointment in the home on Wednesday for my f2f assessment but received a text from Capita on Tuesday morning to inform me that all f2f assessments were being cancelled for the time being but they would be having discussions with the DWP and would keep me up to date of the situation going forward.

I then had a phone call from Capita yesterday to let me know they would now me doing a telephone assessment. They explained I would receive a phone call to arrange the phone assessment at least a week in advance to give me chance to prepare but it would be within the next few weeks.

I must admit I was hoping that the assessments would be suspended for the 3 months that the f2f appointments had been suspended for. Although I want to get it over and done with, I did feeI I would be able to explain and show my issues to the assessor much clearer f2f, I really don't know how I'll come across on the phone.

Good luck with your claim

Nicky

HI there,
I do not think so .
I have received notice this morning from the dwp that I have to apply for PIP for my husband who is in receipt of DLA High rates. I am his full time carer.
I am to phone them by 13th April to tell them if I want to claim pip. Of course I will have to do that.
I do not feel it is fair, as I cannot be taking him to Gp , or expect reports etc at this time. That is if they are even open by Monday. Not sure what to do either. I'm in a panic as it is over the implications of the virus and stripped shelves.
It feels like I Only just did his 'regular" DLA reassessment and got the same again award end January.
Not sure whether to phone and start claim immediately or wait till nearer the deadline. Any advice would be appreciated.
I will not be able to access much other advice anywhere, due to the situation, I don't think.
Thanks in advance, and all stay safe and well.
Miz
