Mandatory reconsideration was created by Tracey.oconnor1974
Hi
Just had the brown envelope through my door and not good news.
I was already receiving enhanced care and mobility. The time came when I had to renew.
I have stayed on enhanced care but gone from enhanced Motability to standard which means I will have to return my car!!
I can’t be without a car! It’s the only thing I have that gives me a bit of a life.
I have been given 0 points for the planning and following a planned journey question.
I am not sure what I can say in order to appeal true decision of zero point.
Please can someone give me advise as I am going to apply for mandatory reconsideration.
Thanks so much
Tracey

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Tracey
You need to get the assessment report which gives you the details for your award. It's difficult to give any sort of help without knowing what the reasoning is behind it. If this is a review, do you know why you scored the particular points before? Did you say anything different from last time to this - has your medical condition changed at all?
I would ring up the DWP and ask for your report and get your MR started if you haven't and when you have a clearer idea come back with any questions and we will try and help.

Hi Tracey.
You may get a letter shortly from Motability explaining that they have received notification that you are no longer entitled to the enhanced/higher rate of the mobility component. They don't expect you to hand the car back immediately. You are given options. At the very worst if you do have to ultimately return the car you are given several months to do so.
Good luck with your MR, I hope you get the outcome you need.
