ESA to UC FIt Note was created by cats
Hello,
I am making a claim for Universal Credit. I have been on ESA since 2016.
The application asks if I have a fit note. My last one was in 2017 as that was the last the DWP requested for my ESA claim. Should I say yes and put the dates from that? Or say no since I don't have one that covers today's date? Will I need to get a new one for UC?

You should not need a Fit Note if you have an existing ESA award as this should be transferred over to UC, however, this process is a manual one so you will need to keep your finger on what is going on.

Gordon,
Thank you for your reply.
I don't know how to answer the question on the application. Should I say no since my last was in 2017?

Hi Cats
As Gordon has stated below, You should not need a Fit Note if you have an existing ESA award. I would not tick either box but write next to them 'I should not need a Fit Note as I have an existing ESA award".

Hi Gary,
The online application forces me to choose either yes or no. There is no place to enter explanatory notes.
