PIP Evidence was created by BJB
I have just received the dreaded letter saying that my DLA is ending & to ring if I want to claim PIP.
I asked if there was any flexibility in gathering evidence during the pandemic & was told no & without evidence my claim would be dismissed - very unhelpful person on the phone.
I am an a/k amputee, with back, pain & mental health issues, my RTA was nearly 20 years ago, so I have no current reports etc, can the forum advise me of what I can do & what supporting evidence I can use.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi BJB
I'm sorry you had such an unhelpful person. You could contact your health centre and see if your doctor would be willing to write a letter, and/or - you could put in a request to access your medical records - there is usually a charge for this. I know your doctor's probably won't want to do this - but at the end of the day, you have a right to them and you just need to explain what the DWP have told you. Only access your records if you are happy to read what is there. You don't want to damage your mental health.
It is helpful to have some evidence, but I have helped someone do the transfer and we only had one letter with a single line confirming their diagnosis. You can only work with what you have.
Make sure that you read through every stage of our guidance on completing the form and be as comprehensive as you can - you can always add extra pages if necessary. If you have any loved ones who can write supporting letters get them to do so.
Some people choose to keep a diary showing what their days are like. This may or may not be possible and its certainly not compulsory, but it is a way of adding further evidence.
