Will the extension apply? was created by admail@aglarond.co.uk
I had a PIP assessment in January and for many reasons I've complained about the assessment to IAS(ATOS). I've had their initial reply and responded to that. I've also had a further specialist diagnosis and a copy of that has also been sent. I've sent everything to both IAS(ATOS) and the DWP.
I haven't had any decision yet but my current PIP claim is until 29th March. So will my claim be extended? Or, as I've had an assessment, will my claim finish in 3 days? Any ideas?

Yes, the Government announced earlier in the week, when they suspended the assessment process for the next three months, that the DWP will extend awards where necessary, my guess is by a year.

My concern was that whilst the statement by Thérèse Coffey seemed clear:
"We are automatically extending all awards and reassessments for health and disability benefits to provide that reassurance to those in receipt of them."
On the website it also says:
"PIP claimants, if an assessment has already taken place this will continue to be processed."
I suppose it could be that my award will be extended but the decision still will be made which could be longer or shorter than the automatic extension.

This is really unlikely, as I said I would expect any extension to be a year, this is what they have done with DLA awards expiring during the transfer process to PIP.
