Overwhelming psychological distress and journeys: changes to PIP law from 28 November 2016
Hi Guys,
I was awarded standard rate for mobility and living rate just over three years ago for severe mental illness. However from what i can gather i should have got higher due to the Overwhelming psychological distress and journeys component not being counted. The change in the law has meant the DWP is looking at cases but i have still heard nothing. I have called The Leap Team who are dealing with the issue who have just tell me its in a que.. I have been told this for over three years.
Is there anyway to expediate this at all, maybe with a letter?
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
The simple answer is no, especially in the current situation.
You say you have a Standard award of Mobility, is that because you assessed as meeting the criteria for (e) Unable to undertake a journey?
If this is the case then you need to be aware that the criteria for (e) is considered to be mutually exclusive from that for (f) so I would not hold your breath on the Decision being revised.
