Hi diceman24
I cannot give you an accurate answer as it depends on your circumstances such as did you pay NI contributions through your pt work? if you did then you maybe able to claim 'New Style' ESA, if not then you can claim UC in your own name.
Your mothers benefits/pensions have no impact on your claim. You may want to ask your doctor for a 'fit note' to help with your claim especially in this climate, your mother is in the at risk group as she is over 70.
Have a look at coronavirus updates: www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/coronavirus-updates
Here is the link for UC, www.gov.uk/universal-credit remember UC is an on line application, you will need to have all your relevant information to hand when you apply, check out our UC guides www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/universal-credit-uc
If you are claiming on the grounds of sickness there will be no face-to-face assessments, for a period of 3 months until June 17th 2020.The assessment provider that is due to carry out the assessment should contact you to tell you what will happen next. The assessment will either be a paper based one, or carried out over the phone.
