Hi, put daughter's new PIP app in on time at end-Jan, just as her previous award ended. As we have heard nothing at all yet we assume it will get considered in April onwards. Does this mean any different laws or rules will apply, or will it be treated under the ones applicable at the time of submission, please? Or have there been no changes anyway except 'inflation' increases to rates of money paid? Thanks, Denby
There have been no changes to the PIP legislation just modifications to the operational procedures that surround the benefit.
As your daughter's claim was treated as a renewal it is much more likely that a face to face will be required which means that you are looking at a three month wait at the least, it is possible that they will do a telephone assessment but we have seen very few of these happening and I think we will see less as time goes on.
If an award is made then it should be backdated to the day after her previous award ended.
