I receive contributions based ESA currently and am waiting to hear about my transfer from DLA to PIP., in the process of an appeal. I own my own property but its an upstairs flat which is increasingly difficult for me and I have been trying to move to a downstairs flat for several years. I found one and put my flat on the market, but it has not sold yet and with COVID there will be no chance of selling for some time. Because I did not want to lose the new place, I took out a bridging loan (This was before COVID) as normally my type of flat sells very quickly I informed DWP, but I am worried that they will count both properties as my assets? I have a small amount of savings, well under £6K
Could you tell me please if DWP could stop all my benefits?
As long as you are only receiving Contribution Based ESA and no Income Related payments then your savings and assets will not have any effect on your ESA(CB).
