Pip award ending was created by Joey123
Hi there, I had a PIP reassessment F2F just before the Coronovrius hit and have just received their decision letter telling me that they have decided my payment will end on 11th April 2020. Now their decision letter is full of rubbish and lies and I'm gonna to have to ask for a mandatory reconsideration etc. I was just wandering if they would extend my award due the Coronovirus situation.
Many thanks for your help.
Kind regards
Joey

Hi there. Thanks Gordon. Well that is disgusting. They've totally wiped out my income as this very difficult time. I've gone from higher rate mobility and standard care to absolutely nothing having had Pip awarded for 3 years and with absolutely nothing changing in my health conditions Now I have to appeal and go through what must be a horrendously long appeal process. I am classified as extremely vulnerable and have been told by the government to self isolate but now they have wiped out my income.
Any suggestions on what to do next also is there a way of complaint what they have done apart from going to the media.
Many thanks for all Ur help.
Kind regards Clifford

Your only way forward with the PIP is to request your MR. You can make a complaint to the Assessment Provider if you think that the assessment and/or assessment report is deficient (do you have the report?) but this would be a separate process from your MR.

At this time, I see no opportunity to complain to the DWP, they are just following the law, they can't extend your award as you have been assessed as no longer meeting the criteria for one.

Do you claim any other benefits? If not, then you may be able to claim Universal Credit unless you have the Severe Disability Premium in any Housing Benefit Claim in which case it would legacy ESA. In either case, you will need to present a Fit Note.

Hi there. Many thanks for your help. I am currently in the ESA support group but now I'll loose my severe disability premium. Do you know how much I'll be receiving each week. Once again many thanks for your help Gordon

Hi Joey123

You would loose £66.95 pw SDP from your ESA claim, you would continue to get £17.10 pw (Enhanced Disability premium)
