My brown envelope “inviting” me to apply to PIP after 13 years on DLA Indefinite, higher rates of both, came through in March. I rang on the last possible day. Forms arrived on 8th April, although dated 26th March, return deadline date given as 26th April (which is a Sunday, so onv they would’ve needed them back on Fri 24th.
Have been struggling hugely - just so much information to get in, and photos, and letters, etc. Anyway, rang the number on the letter to ask for an extension yesterday, and got a recorded message saying that due to Coronavirus, they are extending the return date to 3 months from date of sending.
I would urge anyone in the same position, working on similar dates, to ring the number and check for themselves, don’t take my word for it. I’m not sure I believe it myself, as I haven’t had a letter about this extension, and today is 21st April. I would’ve been due to post it all off tomorrow or the day after.
But that’s what the recorded message said, and I nearly cried with relief.
