Telephone Appeal was created by saracen
Hi this is my first question on here so apologies if its already been asked. I received a letter today telling me my DLA to PIP appeal is now going to be via telephone on Friday. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the type of questions they ask and if I will be given the chance to correct the lies that were written by the assessor at my face to face. I did point them out when I asked for the MR but it was ignored. The DM who rang me to try and offer a 'deal' wasn't completely honest in her reporting of the conversation in the appeal papers that were sent. Thanks in advance.

Hi Sarahc61

I can't tell you exactly what questions they will be asking, because it will be different for each claimant. Obviously you can expect them to focus on the areas that you are disputing, but that doesn't mean they won't ask questions around the whole claim. One member reported have a telephone appeal about a fortnight ago and said it was a very positive experience and they felt they had plenty of time to speak. The questions seemed to be very similar to what had been asked at their face to face. Make sure you have a glass of water, so your voice doesn't dry up while you're talking. Hope it goes well.

Hi, just a quick update. Had my pip telephone appeal scheduled for 10.45am today. Had everything prepared and I waited and waited. After an hour and fifteen mins I rang HMCTS to be told there would be no phone call as the judge has made a paper decision and a letter will be sent out today. She said she didn't have access to the decision so couln't give any further information. My stress levels have been through the roof since I got the letter on Tuesday and for what ? I was told that if I wanted to insist on a telephone hearing I could, I don't count what's happened today as a hearing because they didn't get to 'hear' anything from me ! Sorry, rant over -for now- I'll update when the letter arrives. Thanks.
