Work capability re assessy was created by Pj
I am coming up for reassessment may , I have been fretting about it for some time.
Firstly will I still have a face to face assessment or will it be done by phone?
Secondly, at the moment I have been deemed unfit for work. Nothing has changed in fact I am a little worse than before.
It is worrying me sick that they will take it away due to my anxiety.
If they put you in a work support group do they expect you to attend the job centre to see the work coach every week and are the courses they send you on a every day type of thing?
I ask because I don't think I could cope either mentally or physically until any appeal process went through.
I am on pip with the full daily living allowance and my daughter is my carer to give you some idea of how I am physically
Thank you for your help.

Hi Pj

I have just come from the Rightsnet web site: www.rightsnet.org.uk/welfare-rights/news...months-says-minister

Disability benefit awards are to be automatically extended by six months if due for reassessment in the next three months, the government has confirmed.

You may want to contact DWP to get a confirmation.

Hi Gary
Thank you for the info. I would be really grateful for an answer to the second part of the question. I suffer from really bad anxiety and I wondered what would happen if I was put in a support group ? Are you expected to attend the job centre every week and training sessions every week. ?
I would appeal , but I don't know if I could cope physically or mentally with this . I have the full daily living allowance for pip my daughter is my carer and I have a job to cope with normal day to day stuff.
Thanks again for your help

Hi Pj

Missed that part of your question, I assume we are talking about ESA if you are put in the support group then you are not expected to attend the job centre.
If you are placed in the Work related activity group then you would be expected to undertake this activity. Due to the coronavirus and people under lockdown then this activity has been suspended.

To be placed in the Support Group you need to meet one or more the Support Group Descriptors, have you looked to see whether this is the case or not, the Descriptors are listed in our ESA Claim guide, have a look at page 22 and 27.

Hi
Thank you. No it would be universal credit work capability, is there any difference?
Would the work activities be five days a week every week?
Thank you
