ive had to stop working to my progssive muscular drystophy the doctor has stated I will unfortunately not return to workhas my health will not get better only worse, im applying for universal credit next week whats the maxmuim length of time a doctors fit note can last for or do I have to keep sending them in every 7 days any advise would help me

The length of time on a fit note would be up to your doctor. When you claim you will be treated as having LCW, you will not have to submit fit notes or undergo a WCA.

It may have changed but it used to be that the first two Fit Notes could not be for more than three months but after that they could be indefinite.
