I am due to claim my state pension in September this year (2020). I am in the support group of ESA and High rate PIP on both Mobility and Care. Should I be claiming for my state pension myself or will the DWP send me a form automatically ? Will my ESA discontinue automatically at my state pension date and will I still be able to get my PIP ?
Yes, you have to claim the State Pension, you should receive information about this about three months before you reach State Retirement Age.
Your ESA will stop when you reach SRA.
Your PIP will continue past SRA as long as you continue to meet the criteria for an award, the only limitation is that you cannot receive a new award of the Mobility component or an increased one once you reach SRA.
