good evening, can any advise please, going to start a new claim next week for universal credit been advised by doctors to give work up and its impacting my health conditions{progressive muscular drystophy} when I fill in universal credit form online do I need a doctors fit note or will I be put into lcw element straight away. because of the covid crisis please could someone advise on this matter be for I put my claim in thank you
You will only get the LCW element automatically if you have or have been potentially in contact with someone with the Coronavirus, claims based on other problems will require, as far as I know, a Fit Note, supplying one is important as it sets the date that the Assessment period starts.
The requirement for an on-going Fit Note has been suspended.
