Hello
Can you tell me if the "soft touch" approach for pensioners already on PIP is in effect of us if still only for new PIP claims by pensioners.
Thank you

Hi jeff
Work and Pensions Secretary Amber Rudd first announced in March 2019 that people receiving PIP who have reached State Pension age will no longer have their awards regularly reviewed, instead moving to a light touch review at 10 years.
Minister for Disabled People Justin Tomlinson said (9 July 2019): Last month this improvement was applied to all new PIP claimants who reached State Pension age before their planned re-assessment. From today it will start being applied to existing PIP claimants over State Pension age.

My pip was due for review in November. I received a letter 2 weeks ago to say my award was extended to november 2027 which is 10 years from my previous award. I am 70 years old. Hope this helps

HI Sue
Thank goodness they are sending letters out now. Hopefully, you can relax now.
Just wish they'd done it for DLA pensioners instead of making us apply for PIP.
