PIP renewal (forms sent back in Feb) update

I was getting a bit twitchy as my award ends in July so I phoned today, waited 30 minutes for a lovely lady who told me that awards up to June are being automatically extended for 6 months but they hadn’t got as far as July yet. She confirmed all my info was on the system (and complimented me on the amount of evidence!) so she said there was nothing for me to do and I should expect a letter in the next 6 weeks confirming extension by 6 months .(although she did say they have no guidance beyond the end of June at the moment, this is what they think will happen) In any case she told me not to worry and did say they are of the opinion that there will be a massive backlog and social distancing will make face to face assessment a problem for sometime as many applicants (like me) are in the vulnerable category. I’m off to have a cup of tea and read a book! Hope this update helps someone
