Tribunal appeal was created by Joiner
I need help I have been waiting for a Tribunal appeal date for over a year for PIP mobility I finally got a letter and it will be done by phone. I am really worried not knowing what to expect I was told to write a letter for the judge giving him/her an update of the situation, but obviously cant do this on the phone. Just don't know what to expect my husband is going to be there but he has Parkinson's so this is very stressful can anyone give me any advice please.

Hi Joiner
You should still do as they have suggested and write an up to date letter of the situation before the phone call. See it as your opportunity to put down the key points you want to say which are pertinent to the PIP claim.
In terms of the telephone tribunal. Two members have reported their experience that I know of. One had a very positive experience, the other one less so.
If you look at the Guide to PIP Appeals - you will find information on page 26 on how to prepare for it.

Be careful what you include in any letter you send for your Tribunal, the Judge and/or panel legally cannot consider any changes that have occurred in your conditions or limitations since the Decision you are appealing was made.
If you do include this information then you run the risk of them being unable to distinguish your problems as they were from how they are and this may lead them to err on the side of a "safe" Decision and this may not be to your advantage.
