Money stopped was created by Bud
Hi
Just checked the bank & there’s £75 less in the ESA payment, this is the carers. It would’ve been due to stop as I’d had my PIP stopped, but I got PIP reinstated on MR so it shouldn’t have stopped. I can’t call yet as they don’t open until 9.30, will I have to apply for this again? I’m sure they do this purposely as I’ve had my backpay, & a full monthly payment of PIP yesterday.
Thanks.

We have seen it before where the ESA team have been notified of the claimant losing their CA due to the PIP being stopped but not then notified that it has been reinstated.
Start with the Carers Unit as you will need to have proof that the CA has been put back into payment before the ESA will start paying the Carers Premium again.

Thank Gordon.
I did ring them & they said they didn’t know, although I spoke to 2 people about this. So I was a bit suspicious calling to reclaim carers like they advised.

You should not have to reclaim CA it should be reinstated from the day that it was stopped, then you can get the Premium paid with your ESA.

So what should I do Gordon?
I’ve just tried ringing carers DWP, but they’re only open 10-2.
Thanks.

Bud
You need to keep trying the Carers Unit on 0800 731 0297, I'm told that phoning first thing (10 am) is most likely to be successful.
