Access to PIP Assessment Report was created by admail@aglarond.co.uk
I'm aware that it is possible for PIP claimants to access their Assessment Report before a decision has been made by the DWP on the claim. Could anyone help by pointing to where this is in any 'official 'document?

Hi bfoandc

This is the government advice. You will find the 'proof' at 1.8.20

Thanks for that BIS, but it does not mention anything about timescales and whether it is before or after the decision has been made by the DWP. I'm trying to understand how ATOS can say it is after the decision is made that a request for the report can be made.
I can see why it suits them but if there is no specific time mentioned 'officially' anywhere where has it come from?

ATOS and/or Capita have no control over when the report is made available to the claimant, the document that BIS referred to is simply making assessors aware, not that they should need it, that the claimant can and often does see what they have written.

Standard operating procedure by the DWP on the UK mainland is to allow the claimant to request a copy of the assessment report as soon as it has been logged as received on the DWP systems.

Thanks for that Gordon. I know I have had no problem getting my reports and that has been vital in both my transfer to PIP and in my PIP review. I just wanted to check, before I mention it to my MP and also to my MSP, that there wasn't anything in regulations etc that supported what ATOS say. I didn't want to make matters more complicated getting reports than they are already.
