As my son's Appointee I have just received the following text message from the DWP: "This message is about x's PIP claim. Because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, we have suspended new claims to Personal Independence Payment (PIP) from claimants who are getting Disability Living Allowance (DLA). We will continue to pay their DLA as normal. You do not need to do anything or contact us about their PIP claim unless you need to tell us about any changes. We will send you a letter with more information shortly." I was due to have a telephone assessment in the next few days...Getting mixed messages.
I am sure the text message suspends the upcoming telephone assessment. However, I would keep any paperwork close to the telephone until the date of the assessment passes just in case. (I'm always ultra cautious).
