Hi all, well I decided to go for MR for the 1 point I need for Enhanced Daily Living. On my phone assessment I scored 11 Daily Living and 10 Mobility. I feel that the 2 for use of aids which was given for Cooking should have been 4 - need help or supervision etc. I provided evidence from 2 Incapacity for Work tests where the Medical Examiner ticked box for unable to pour from a saucepan or 1 litre kettle with either hand and stated I had severe neck and low back disease. Both findings were the same. I also sent in evidence from an Industrial Injury report headed Impaired Manual Dexterity and said I was limited for gripping, carrying and repetitive movements.
So how could I mange a pan now when I couldn't then?
The descriptor for monitoring a health condition or needing help with medication scored Nil where I believe it should have read 1. One statement made by HP in her report suggested I could apply the tens machine myself. I would have to be a contortionist to place pads where required. I had sent in evidence from DLA statement which said I needed help to put on TENS machine. I asked how come I needed help then, surely same must apply now. There were other issues where I needed help under this category so mentioned all that applied.
I felt that as my scores on PIP were on use of aids throughout, my award was quite safe and worth the risk.
Even the mobility they agreed that I had problems, my distance was slow, 40 - 50 mtrs and required walking aids so hopefully that will be safe.
I have posted it off today so I will update as soon as I hear anything.
Once again thank you for the useful guides and of course your time.
