PIP payments stopped overnight!

PIP payments stopped overnight! was created by Tragobon
I asked for a reconsideration of my PIP because my circumstances have worsened since my last application. I was sent a form to complete but unfortunately I had broken a finger on my right hand and had difficulty writing. The form has to be written and I knew I would struggle to meet the deadline. I phoned the DWP and spoke to a very nice lady and she told me that as it was me raising the issue and asking for a review then not to worry about the deadline and she would put a note on my account. The deadline was the end of March and after struggling for a few weeks I managed to get it in the post by the 28th April. The next day, I received a letter dated the 21st April telling me they had stopped my PIP award as I hadn’t returned the form. My PIP was awarded up to 2023 originally but as I wanted a review because of my circumstances worsening, they treated me as if I was a new applicant! I phoned them and after hanging on for 45 minutes, I finally got through. I was passed around to three different people and finally was speaking to a manager, not at my request I might add. She told me it was all an error and that she would put my PIP back into payment. She confirmed she had my form and evidence and that she has no idea how long this will take to be considered! She confirmed that as long as the social distancing law is in place, no face to face meetings will occur. This is just a warning to others that although you phone them and explain difficulties, it doesn’t always mean that they will read the notes on your ‘account’ and that you may end up with rash decisions being made by the DWP !! Just waiting for my Cancelled payments to arrive in my bank account!
