Hi I had my PIP review via telephone assessment 3 months ago which was very stressful indeed. I had not heard anything despite being told I'd receive a letter in about 6-8wks after the assessment. My carer contacted Capita and was told that all telephone assessments were being void as they didn't give the assessor a proper insight to the claimants disabilities and that a F2F would still be required and there is a back log so although my benefit is due to end my money will continue as normal until they get round to seeing me. I am so stressed again now can feel my illness is starting to flare up with the anxiety of what awaits me. Is there any way around this? Any help appreciated.
I would ask your carer to contact the DWP to confirm that this is the decision that was made. If that is the case, it is the sort of information you should have had, had in writing. After all, this means you will be subject to two assessments and though this sometimes does happen you are entitled to an explanation. Certainly, telephone assessments are continuing to be used so you need to find out what is happening.
