Pip request for reconsideration was created by skyblue4u
Hello a good friend of mine as unfortunately been given the sad news of going from high rate care and low rate mobility to no phones in her over the phone assessment . Whilst thus is disappointing and we will be appealing if no satisfactory result in her reconsideration request. It does beggars belief as she is in such a poor state of health but listening to other people on the forum it’s not a complete sunrise. Can you tell me one thing do you still keep the original PIP money whilst going through the reconsideration and appeal process if necessary? Whilst we followed all the advice initially I’m filling in her form, we will of course be taking advice again from this excellent resources on this site.

Hi Skyblue
Has your friend requested a copy of the assessment report to find out why she has lost her award? It will help you in writing the MR.
If a claimant has lost their award, it will end shortly after the decision has been made.

Hello
Thank you for your reply. She has not done anything yet as she only found out on Wednesday.
We will be calling on Monday to request a copy of the assessment report and following it up with a letter to try and get to the bottom of this seemingly awful decision. I would add she had excellent evidence including a doctors report stating her difficulties and various consultants letters. I find it hard to understand when evidence is so compelling how you can simple score no points at all. It will certainly be interesting to read the assessment report. The problem is she really does feel like giving up and accepting her fate regardless of the injustice. I will read your guides on Reconsiderations and see where we go from here.

I presume you request a copy of the assessment report before you actually start your MR., but given you only have a month to put in your MR by the time you get the copy of your assessment report the window for challenging the report could be very limited. Is it best to make the request for the copy of the assessment by an initial phone call and follow it up with a request in writing. ? Thanks again

Hi skyblue
Unfortunately I come across this all the time and many claimants do give up, those that I persuade to carry on usually get a positive outcome, touchwood not had a failure yet.
The guides on this forum are very good and well written, they will take you step by step in requesting a Mandatory Reconsideration and then Appeal if necessary, as BIS has stated the first stage is to request a copy of the assessors report (PA4 V3).
We have many members on this forum who have a positive outcome, the only downside is that it is not quick.
Any questions then do come back to the forum.

Hi skyblue
When you request a copy of the assessors report, it usually arrives within 5 days. It is advisible to wait 48 hrs after the assessment before requesting a copy. I usually use the form CRMR1 when applying for a MR.
