Contributory ESA Support Group and PIP

Dear Benefits and Work folk,

I am currently in the Support group for Contributory ESA, I claim PIP and get the Standard rate for help with daily needs and the enhanced rate for mobility needs.
If I were to stop claiming PIP when my award runs out, would I still receive ESA do you know?

Thank you all for the work you do for us all on this marvellous website, Anne

The criteria for ESA is sufficiently different from PIP that there is no automatic knock-on but it is possible that it could trigger a reassessment.

If the reason that you are relinquishing your PIP award is because your conditions and limitations have improved then you are obliged to contact the DWP about this, doing so will result in a reassessment.
