I have got my friends medical assessment report ( see from a previous post) and I’m shocked but on reflection not surprised to see it littered with inaccurate statements of what was said during my friends assessment and just as important valuable things that were said, seemed to be missing completely. I do read other people’s experience and have tried to install belief in my friend to continue the flight with my help and that of thus site

It is hard to not criticise the medical report when you see such errors and out and out lies !
Do I point out all of the inaccuracies in the report ? Whilst still pointing out why this person should score points for an activity? When they have scored no points at all the amount of work to be done seems insurmountable but I am determined to help.by following the guides etc
Having requested the MR we now have a month to finalise our evidence but can this be extended if required or not ? I do hope to get it done by the date required though,
Is there any mileage in pointing out her previous pip award where she’s scored points for single sentences and tick boxes ( was not aware of this site when she’s five her previous claims)
Is there any point in bringing it to the attention of her MP that there are indeed very dishonest assessors who seem to be going about there business unchecked and unaccountable to anyone at great expense to the country’s tax payers . This lady is a very proud person who has been totally knocked for six by this medical report basically calling her a liar and a cheat, despite some excellent medical evidence.it’s a very worrying trend that seems to be happening on a more to often frequency reading some of the members posts. Your advice is welcome

The four weeks, which includes postage so is more like three, is set by the DWP, there is no reason why it cannot be extended but rarely is.

However, Decisions are taking 16 weeks or more at the moment so you may have more time anyway, although you cannot rely on it.

You should certainly deal with the report but your priority is to make sure that you have shown that she meets the criteria for an award.

Our PIP MR & Appeal guide is on the following link which also includes an example MR request and a guide to responding to the report. A question you should pose to the Decision Maker is whether the assessor has documented an improvement in your friend's conditions, sufficient to deny an award.

They can contact their MP but there is little that they can do in regard to the MR process, making them aware of the quality of the report is a good idea but your friend really needs to make a formal complaint to the Assessment Provider first.
