PIP Review phone assessments was created by Cardiff2011
Hi does anyone have thoughts or experience of PIP Review phone assessments being done through an interpreter? I am currently filling in a review form for a friend who has great difficulty answering questions on the phone as his 1st language is not English.....Polish. Because of his mental conditions he also gets very confused on the phone. I am very concerned if he is phoned and assessment is done in English he will not understand and will lose some or all of his PIP.
Thanks
Thanks

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

We have had several members with hearing issues who have had a friend or family member sit in on the call.
If there is nobody available to do this then they need to contact the Assessment Provider for them to have an interpreter available.

Thanks... I have helped him in past at FtoF assessments but not with phone assessments. If I put on Review form...' if phone assessment necessary I will need an interpreter Polish language. I have great difficulty understanding English on the phone and because of my mental health conditions I get very confused' do you think they will take note of the request and arrange for an interpreter?

They should do but be prepared to contact them when an appointment is received.
