ESA Severe Disability Premium was created by Beth
Hi yesterday I won my PIP appeal without going to tribunal! It’s taken 20months and I can Honestly say, the whole process has broken me. :-((
I have diagnosed severe mental health disorders and it’s taken me 14 years to apply.
I went from 0 points at first claim in 2018, awarded standard mobility after MR in August 2019, Appeal adjourned and refused in March 2020 (court cockup!) So I decided to send my ‘new’ GP support letter and letters of diagnosis evidence direct to a DWP 10 days ago as the tribunal received it 30/3 but still as yet haven’t scanned it or distributed it.
Spoke to the DWP PIP appeals team yesterday and after a short telephone interview I was awarded Enhanced on both Components!
My question now is, as I receive Legacy Income Related ESA in the SG, do I need to contact the ESA department and ask them for the back dated Severe Disability Premium from the original claim date for PIP in 2018? Or will it just be automatically awarded, as the system is updated?
(No other adults in house or claiming Carers)

Many congratulations on getting the award revised, well done.

Yes, you will need to contact the DWP as they will need you to verify you living circumstances for the period covered.
