MR for pip was created by fuzzy bob
my son phoned today about a new dicission and they said they had changed from no award to standard care and high mob ,then my son asked about back payment .the claim had started oct last year but the woman he spoke told him they were only paying 988 into account .i thought you got it from when your claim went in is that right ,.please help as there is a lot of money at stake.the woman he spoke to agreed that the amount didnt sound right and would get the case manager to phone nxt week .could you advise please.

If this was a new claim for PIP then it should be backdated to the day that the claim was made.

If it was a transfer from DLA then the PIP will be backdated to the day after the DLA award ended, this is normally four weeks after the actual Decision was made.

its confusing.. never asked to go from dla to pip from dwp.just rang up and made new claim for pip and then went to a assesment jan this year .got a discision 0 points then a letter saying dla stopped april.made a complaint to atos got appology from them. they contacted dwp and then a new dissision made to standerd rate living and high rate mob .so is that classed as a new claim.help

You say there was a DLA claim, so this was a transfer and it will backdate to April.
