Hello, If you suffer with IBS (over 20yrs) have had operations on rectum so now muscles are not strong, As a taxi driver finding it harder to go to work as getting no warnings when needing toilet and is now starting to effect mentally as every time leaving the house having to think where there is a toilet, would it be worth trying to claim PIP allowance.

Hi John

I can't give you a definitive answer here. You would need to look at the specific criteria and see exactly how your symptoms impact on your daily life. I do know of several people who get it who have IBS, but it is in conjunction with other conditions.

Have a look at the PIP handbook and see how it applies to your case.
