Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
My full name is showing, how can I stop it?
We haven't seen many telephone appeals reported on the forum so you may not get any feedback to your post.
Remember, it is not your conditions that are being assessed but the limitations that result from them, have a look at our PIP Claim guide for the criteria that the panel will be questioning you about.

If you have any specific questions then come back to the forum.
Some practical advice. make sure that you have a comfortable seat, the hearing will likely take the best part of a hour, have a drink available and paper and pen. If you don't know what is being asked then ask for the question to be repeated.
Don't be tempted to record the hearing, just because it is not at a Tribunal Service venue does not mean that the normal rules do not apply and making a recording is Contempt of Court.
Best of luck with the hearing,
Gordon

Hi Gordon,
Thanks for the advice. I'll have a look at the FAQ.
I've had a look at a few posts that relate to me which has been enlightening.
I'm appealing a decision about a mandatory reconsideration against a PIP award while still presenting the same conditions when I have previously been awarded it.
I have difficulties remembering certain aspects of previous tribunals due to my condition and I think the criteria for the award has changed.
Thanks again.

Would I be right in thinking that as members of the public are technically allowed in to courtroom Tribunals, [my husband sat in the back row when I was supporting our daughter last time], there is no reason why you should not have anyone in the room that you wish during a telephone one? They could take notes which could be some help especially for a claimant with memory problems. Obviously they must remain silent as they are not parties to the appeal.

I don't see why not providing they are announced to the panel before the hearing begins.
