Hospital stay was created by Strato
Hi guys
Just a quick question,my husband was taken into hospital last night with a really bad foot ulcer that hasnt healed for 7 months,it now has infected the bone and doctors are wanting to amputate maybe a toe or two and part of his foot,i have no idea when they will do this as he is currently on a drip for the cellulitus, i expect that they will want to see this improve before they operate.
My question is how long does he have before i have to inform the dss that he is in hospital he currently gets pip for both mobility and care at high rate.
Many rhanks

Hi Strato
If you are aged 18 or over, payments of Disability Living Allowance (DLA), Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and Attendance Allowance (AA) you get will stop after you have been in hospital for 28 days. ... If your DLA, PIP or AA payments stop, they will be paid again as soon as you come out of hospital. www.gov.uk/going-to-hospital-benefits
