Awarded PIP standard Daily Living and mobility was created by Tina
I have been awarded PIP. Found out by telephone call this morning. I have been awarded it for 3 years and it will be backdated from November 2018. I am on ESA (support group) . If the backpayments are over 6,000 how will this affect everything else. I am totally clueless about these things and will it affect other things like Housing Benefit. Happy but worried at the same time. Thanks

The back payment should be disregarded for 52 weeks.

I don't really understand what you mean Gordon. (re; disregarded for 52 weeks )
If the backpayment exceeds the £6000 declared savings limit will I have to contact DWP about my ESA payments (will this backpayment affect my ESA payments) .

The money will be ignored by the DWP for the next 52 weeks and will not affect your ESA.
The ESA team should be made aware of the payment but I would still give them a call and follow it up in writing.

Thank you. I rang DWP and they confirmed what you said that my ESA would not be affected. She said she would check with her supervisor and I waited for nearly 10 minutes to get back to me. She said when I knew what the PIP backdated payment was to ring back to her department to let them know the backdated amount . Was a bit surprised by this as I thought they would know. Do Tribunal not let DWP know that they have awarded me this if they try to contest the award ?

Hi Tina
The reason is the different departments. So yes the Tribunal informs the area they have been dealing with (PIP).
