PIP for pensioners was created by Kimbychick
Hi,

My dad was awarded PIP enhanced at both rates in June 2018 for 4 years. He then turned 65 in December 2018.

He is wondering if he will be assessed again in 2022 as planned. Or will it just be the 10 year light touch review as he is over 65?

Many thanks

Hi Kim

Yes, your Dad should receive the light touch review and should be informed of that about six months before his current end date.

That's great thanks.

So will it be 2028 before the light touch review for him? Can you also tell me what the light touch review involves please?

Thanks again x

They will look at his claim in late 2021, around six months before it expires in June 2022.

He should then receive an On-Going award which will be reassessed using a Light Touch review ten years later. We don't know what a Light Touch review will consist of as the first ones will not be done before 2023 at the earliest.
