You won't be finished with the DWP and they are responsible for the State Pension.
As your ESA will finish and you will not be considered to be of working age you will not be required to have any further assessments.
Pension Credit is an Income Related benefit which can be claimed, subject to their circumstances, by people who have reached State Retirement Age.

thank you gordon. i may apply for pension credits, but i will decide nearer the time, my last assessment was in april 2019, and it stated maybe a review after 2 years, it also stated condition unlikely to improve in the longer term, that would mean another medical in 2021, 14 month before retirement. thank again.

You may be reviewed in 2019 but unlike PIP, ESA awards do not have an End Date so the DWP can defer your assessment without having to contact you so it could be later.
