How long please is the first PIP1 telephone call? I need to know because 25 mins of talking on the phone is fine for me. Excess of this causes severe post-exertional neurological exhaustion. thanks.
We cannot give you an exact length simply because it depends on what you have to say - but they want you to confirm things like your name, dob, national insurance name, your conditions, and your GP. However, you don't have to go into all the details about your conditions and you can tell them that you will fill out the information when you receive the form. I have known people not be able to remember their GP and said they would fill it in later. The purpose of the call is simply to start the process. I've known it to be as short as ten minutes and as long as 30mins. There are three bits of information they have to read to you - you just have to listen and then confirm you heard what was said.
You can tell them straight away that you may not be able to continue the call - they should be sympathetic and make it as short as possible.
