Universal Credit was created by Mad dog lady
Hi.

I have been claiming UC for the last 2.5years as a single person. I have mental health issues and have been classed as Limited capability for work & work related acctivities. Prior to claiming UC I had been on ESA (Income related) I had to swap because I moved area's. I also get PIP at enhanced rate for daily living.
I have now moved in with my partner who has savings of more than £16K and is working. My question is as I can no longer get UC iss there anything else I can claim as I do not see why my partner should have to support me?

Hi Mad dog lady

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is.

Welcome to Benefits and Work .

The answer to your question is no, now that you have moved in with your partner, their income and savings will be taken into consideration when you claim/apply for any means tested benefit such as UC, IR ESA, HB. If you have savings over £16k then it disqualifies you from claiming.

As PIP is not means tested then that will not change, I would put your information into one of the online benefit calculators just to check.
