Hi, Does anybody know what kind of medical records are stored and that i would have access to for past CBT Therapy on the NHS? For example do records consist of specific things discussed during each therapy session are are the records notes to say i that i have had therapy?
Any person is allowed access to all their medical records including therapy sessions - unless that it is deemed unsafe for those records to be released to a patient. This does sometimes happen in exceptional cases, including those with mental health difficulties. Even if they refused to release the records a patient would receive a letter explaining why and it would be very clear in that letter that they'd had treatment.
