I called Independent Assessment Services (Atos) to request permission to record my telephone assessment. I was told this is no longer permitted as the HP will record the assessment if I request it, and send me a copy. I said I would also like to record it for myself with two tape recorders. Again I was told I would not be allowed to record the assessment. I’m concerned about this after hearing about recordings being lost, etc. What is your advice?
You are not allowed to record PIP assessments officially, but there is nothing to stop you covertly recording them (and a lot of people do). However, if the assessor realises you are recording your assessment, they will stop the assessment immediately.
