PIP - mobility claim - sat nav / google maps was created by Muggle
Hi
I am just wondering if anyone has experience of claiming PIP for mobility based on using sat nav and google maps.
I understand the argument that they aren’t ‘prescribed’ however, I am unable to go anywhere without either one due to a combination of dyslexia and ASD. My direction, left, right is so bad that I get lost in buildings.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Muggle
You might try and claim in question 13 A. You would have to give a clear explanation about why you have to always use a sat nav. (Getting lost inside a building is an issue - let being lost outside). Make it clear about your ASD and Dyslexia. Do not assume that anyone reading your form will understand these two conditions. Link them to the specific PIP criteria.
It's not a given they will accept your explanation - but it's worth trying.
