Well high five Wobblin! When you get your Asperger's confirmed as you should I'm sure [if not a second opinion is a must!] you can throw the Equality Act 2010 and Autism Act 2009 book at DWP and everyone else. If I had known that we could have got my [Asperger's] husband's DLA [born before 1948] upped earlier. Spread the word, autistic spectrum conditions [ASC] DO count as an impairment: From CAB website:
" The definition is set out in section 6 of the Equality Act 2010. It says you’re disabled if:
you have a physical or mental impairment your impairment has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on your ability to do normal day-to-day activities" such as: "difficulty communicating and interacting with other people..... socialising".
Best wishes with your claim and getting the assessment, Denby

UPDATE:
Well, it's finished. It lasted 2 3/4 hours! There was no problem adding my support worker, the assessor offered to do it before I even asked.
He was very thorough, but he also let me take a break every half hour. Seems like I was lucky enough to get one of the 'nice' ones.
Now let's see if that niceness goes as far as getting me a favourable decision...

Hi Wobblin
Thanks for giving us the update. I am so pleased that you had a positive experience. Nearly 3 hours is a long time and almost a record, but I'm glad to hear that also includes you having breaks. As you say, let's hope the 'niceness' and 'thoroughness' translates into a positive outcome.

Excellent Wobblin. But please don't wait for the decision in case. Our daughter's last F2F assessor was 'nice' but his report wasn't, in short. So wait no more than 2 days and pls get your support worker to call requesting the PA4 report. If it matches the 'nice' assessment, fine, some peace of mind. If not, you can write to DWP straight away to set the record straight.

UPDATE:
Well, I got my decision this morning - Low Rate Daily Living and Low Rate Mobility (which is not quite what I wanted, but still far better than the nothing I was expecting) until March 2024.
There are some grey areas/slight discrepancies between my taped record of the assessment and the PA4, but I'm not sure I can face disputing it right now and possibly lose the award I did get as a consequence. Maybe in 2024 when I've got my official Aspergers diagnosis as further evidence (full assessment due sometime this year I'm told).
Anyway, it's still a success!
Thanks for all the help and support.

Hi Wobblin
Congratulations on your award. Sorry, it isn't quite what you wanted.
If you want to put in an MR you have one month from the date on the decision letter.
If you get your Aspergers Diagnosis later this year - you could always put in for a change of circumstances and get them to look at it earlier. Obviously, it depends on whether you can cope with the additional stress.
